Born in 1925 (Taisho 14) in Hiroshima, she established her kiln in Yuki City, Ibaraki Prefecture, in 1979 (Showa 54). She developed a style that combines the techniques she learned from master potters with a meticulous and gentle touch unique to women. The SHOSEKI pots are famous for their playful depictions of children, but she also paints motifs inspired by Ko-Imari patterns, imaginary animals, and flowers.
