Bonsai Ohno has directly sourced a large quantity of bonsai pots from the Issou kiln. Sadly, Issou has already passed away, and these are his final remaining works. Please check the video below.
Issou established his kiln in the Tokai region of Japan, located in the eastern part of the country, on the Izu Peninsula in Shizuoka. He produced many beautiful pots for small bonsai. At Bonsai Ohno, we often use his pots for repotting, as they are versatile and complement various trees and kusamono. Issou pots were used as base MAYU painted pots. Issou pots are also featured in the *Bonsai Small Pot Encyclopedia*. While Issou pots are well-known and popular in Japan, they are unfortunately not as recognized overseas. Recently, a bonsai vendor from the U.S. who was unaware of Issou pots was surprised by their high quality and reasonable prices, and ended up purchasing them.
