Chazan Shinano

Born in December of the 37th year of the Meiji era (1904), in Seto, Aichi Prefecture. After training under a kimono painter, he made a living as a ceramic underglaze painter for tableware. He also practiced tea ceremony, painting and haiku. He was commissioned to paint bonsai pots by Tosui Uematsu. He was creating designs such as dragons, carvings, Southern-style painting, and elderly figures.
