Yusen Tsukinowa

Born in 1908 in Gifu Prefecture, Yusen moved to Kyoto aspiring to become a painter. While working in a Kiyomizu-yaki studio, he studied painting. Gradually, he became deeply interested in ceramics and apprenticed under Mr. Ishiguro. He is highly acclaimed for his painted pots, particularly those representing the Toukaido Fifty-three Stations (Toukaidou gojyuu san tsuge).
