Tosui Uematsu

Born in the 32nd year of the Meiji era (1899) in a bonsai pot wholesaler’s family in Tokyo. He visited kilns across various regions, commissioning the production of pots based on his own designs, creating many renowned pieces. He frequently traveled to Shinano Seto and designated Harumatsu Touen as his exclusive kiln, where he oversaw the production of mass-produced pots. It was here that he discovered the talent of Tosui Harumatsu, leading to the creation of TOSUI’s masterpieces.
