Yohei Seifu


The first generation was born in 1803 as the son of a samurai of the Kanazawa domain and established a kiln in 1828 (Bunsei 11).
Both the second and third generations possessed exceptional skills and were entrusted with work for the Imperial Household.
The fifth generation faced difficult circumstances and was forced to take on jobs such as car washing. However, after meeting Yusen Tsukinowa, he sought to return to the path of ceramics.
He also painted on Yusen’s pots, and their collaborative works are considered extremely valuable.
His pieces, characterized by an Oriental painting style and a unique worldview, are highly acclaimed worldwide.
