Born in Kyoto in 1920 into a family known for Kyo-yaki pottery, he developed a passion for ceramics from a young age. Renowned as a master of painted pots, he creates practical yet highly aesthetic pieces. Specializing in the style of Chinese painting and polychrome decoration and Gosai(It is a piece of white porcelain or white glazed pottery decorated with designs or patterns using colored glazes such as red, blue, yellow, green, and purple) , he upholds the traditions of Kyo-yaki while infusing his work with a distinctive elegance. He handles all stages of pottery-making independently.
